Microsoft account such as Hotmail or Outlook has been used widely across Microsoft services such as email, office 365, OneDrive, Xbox, etc… For Windows 8 or Windows 10 users, most of them will use Microsoft account for login. So forgetting the password will cause a lot of troubles.
You must be feeling helpless because without putting the password you can't do anything with your computer. Well, losing Microsoft account password is very common thing. You are not the only one here and recovering password is definitely not a very challenging job when you are using an original Microsoft Windows account. You can easily reset Microsoft Account password from password reset page and this is a very simple procedure. All you need is internet connection.
When you have forgotten the password for your Microsoft account just go to the Microsoft account password reset page and click on "I forgot my password" and click next to reset Microsoft account password.

Now you need to input the right email address that you have been using for your Microsoft account or the phone number associated with the account.
Next, enter the characters shown in the page. If you can't see the text clearly, you can ask for a new one or just listen to audio. Click Next to proceed.
Now you are on the next page. If you have connected Microsoft account to your phone, then you can easily go for the option "send a code to my phone" or else you can choose "send the code to my email account". The email is the recovery email you used during account creation.
if you have neither of these then you should go for "I don't have any of these". If your email account matches the registered email account, then you would easily receive the code in your email account.
Now you need to check the recovery mail and there you can find the code. Just put the code in the box and click next to proceed to the next step.
Now you can find two boxes " New password" and "Reenter new password". You need to fill up boxes with the new password that you would like to use for Microsoft account. Now click Next and wait for a while and you will be landed to a new page where you can see the message "Your password was xhanged".
Now you can easily sign in to your Microsoft windows account with the new password. This time, make sure write down or backup the password at some where so you can get it when you forget it next time.
