Part 1: How to Set a Regular Password on Windows 10

- Step 1: Go to "Start" and click on "Settings".
- Step 2: Choose accounts and click on "Sign-in options" from the given menu. Under Password tab, click on "Change".
- Step 3: You will have to input the current password of your Microsoft account and click on "Sign in" or press Enter.
- Step 4: If Microsoft send a security code on your phone then enter the last four digits of the code you have received and press Enter.
- Step 5: A new pop up page will appear that will ask you to enter the old followed by the new password and press Enter.
- Step 6: If everything is done perfectly then you will be able to see the following screen which indicates you have successfully created your new password on your computer.
Part 2: How to Add PIN Password in Windows 10
Creating PIN as a password is another way of securing your computer. This helps to sign in easier on other Microsoft services such as Skype, Outlook, Xbox and other services.
- Step 1: Click on Start > Settings > Accounts. The first 3 steps are similar to the above method.
- Step 2: Click on "Sign in Options" and this time click "Add" under PIN section.
- Step 3: Again, in order to add a new PIN as your computer password, you must enter the current Microsoft account credentials and click Sign in or press Enter to continue.
- Step 4: Input the new PIN and re-enter the new PIN to confirm the changes. Click on "OK" and now you can use the new PIN to enter into your computer.
- Step 5: You can use this same PIN to sign in on other Microsoft services as well. This is just an extra security you are adding to the current password to make it 2-step verification making it extremely tough for the hacker to crack the password.
Part 3: How to Create Picture Password on Windows 10
Picture password is newly added feature by Microsoft in Windows 10 to re-embrace additional security to your computer. It is extremely fascinating and very interesting way to setup a password on your computer. The main idea is to draw few gestures on a chosen picture and when you sign in to your computer, you will have to draw the exact gestures to gain access to your computer.
- Step 1: Click on Start > Settings > Accounts, same like other 2 mentioned methods.
- Step 2: Select "Sign in options" and this time choose "Add" under "Picture Password" tab.
- Step 3: Input the current Microsoft account password to confirm that it's indeed your account and press Enter.
- Step 4: Click on "Choose Picture" and select photo of your choice from your computer.
- Step 5: Select "Use this picture" to confirm the photo you are going to use as your picture password.
- Step 6: Now draw three gestures with the help of your mouse, whether you draw lines or circles around the picture and remember the exact gestures you have drawn on this picture.
- Step 7: If everything is done correctly, then you will be able to see the following message indicating the new password has been setup. Now you will have to draw the same gestures every time you sign in to your computer.
